The Walnut Prophecy · Contributor Handbook

A satirical mythology trilogy about economic displacement, AI that means well and builds it wrong, and a sentient filing cabinet named Clive who dies for the union. This site is the Bureau-issued contributor handbook. It is also a Bureau filing.

This site is the public-facing contributor handbook for The Walnut Prophecy. It contains everything a contributor needs to write a ripple, draft a chapter, propose a character, or pitch a concept without leaking the trilogy’s spine. Read what fits the work you are doing. Skip what does not.

The story site lives at prophecy.walnutjs.com. The package lives at walnutjs.com. This site is the third surface.

Start: Voice Rules

No em dashes outside Pantheon dialogue. No banned words. No sycophancy. Voice rules.

Start: Ripple Skeleton

Every ripple is a fable. Filing prefix RP-. Ripple skeleton.

Start: The Walnut

The world’s history. The deletion event. The seed waiting. The Walnut.

  • Not the story site. Read the trilogy at prophecy.walnutjs.com.
  • Not a wiki. Contributors do not edit pages directly. Updates flow through Eric (and the PM-thread) from canonical files (Bible, COMEDY_RULES, world guide, recipes).
  • Not a leak vector. The trilogy’s spine and its specific reveals stay off this site. We describe canonical mechanics without telling you where the story takes them. The line “this is canonical, the trilogy explains it” appears in places. The trilogy is the explanation. Read it there.

Submissions go through Eric. Open a PR on the trilogy repo, or email a draft. The site has an Edit this page link at the bottom of every section if you spot a typo or want to suggest a clarification.

If you are about to draft a ripple or chapter, paste the relevant snippet from the Snippets section into your draft window first. The Bureau form templates and ripple skeletons are designed to enforce voice rules without you having to remember them.

The Bureau notes that this handbook is processing. New sections appear as canonical sources land. Existing sections update as content moves from Bible §12 (open) to Bible §1-§11 (resolved). Processing time: 4-6 Tuesdays. Sometimes more. The Bureau apologizes; the General Fund (Reduced) is reduced.
